One of my favourite friends, Vanessa sent me this gorgeous photo of her little Nina. We used to live in Joburg and I loved hanging out with these two. I thought it was far too beautiful to keep to myself. Vanessa is a photographer based in Gauteng and oneofthesedays I’m going to fly her here to take some photos of our little family again. Okay. 
I need to get these posts out. If I don’t, I’d just feel like a big phoney so just sort of hear me out. These past few weeks have been… Awful. Man it’s so damn easy to create this super happy online presence, but its just not like that. Things are pretty darn horrible right now. 
I’ve been trying to talk myself through things or waiting for it to all change back. Maybe this time when the guy pulls the cloth from the cage, the white dove will be back inside. But the dove is gone. And I’m sitting here in the dark trying to figure everything out or try give myself a little sense of control, but its not coming.

Vanessa Lewis and Ninasaycheese – friends of Raising Men, a feature

One of my favorite friends, Vanessa has a gorgeous daughter Nina. Vanessa is also an incredibly talented and creative photographer in the food and styling industry – but also at Ninasaycheese, where she has broken the barrier in all things children’s photography. 
Noah and Ben have both shot with her at her studios in Joburg, and it was a natural and fun shoot. Vanessa is a mom, she is warm, creative, friendly and relaxed. Just when I thought I was not having another baby. I just caught up on my all-time favorite blog – Bluebird. How handsome looking is this baby? I have at least seven close girlfriends that are pregnant right now. I am not kidding. Everyone seems to be growing a little person right now. It makes my uterus do funny baby-wanting things, to be honest. Meet Sailor.

My friend Vanessa is a children’s photographer in Johannesburg. She just released this series that she created of her daughter, Nina. Have you ever seen something as beautiful in your life?
